Can Your Social Media Manager – Consultant Pass The Social Media Marketing Dilettante Test?

The other day I promoted a post {the one below} on my Facebook Business Page using the new Send Message {which is killer for opening the conversation with a potential customer and turning that conversation into a sale, hint, hint} option.

 

 

This is one of the Messages {isn’t word for word but it’s close} that I received.

My friend has a business I want to become his – her Social Media Manager, what do I need other than a computer and internet connection?

I have the utmost respect for this person wanting to better themselves and acquire new knowledge.

Social Media Marketing Manager Dilettante

There’s a snowflake’s chance in hell that they’ll be able to consistently and reliably generate sales from their Social Media Marketing efforts.

That is why you’re using Social Media isn’t it?

To generate more sales and ultimately double them?

Obviously it was easy for me to pick this person as a Dilettante {I see them all day every day so I’m pretty damned good at spotting them now} but the real question for you is…

How can you tell if your Social Media Manager – Consultant has the knowledge required to actually make you sales?

They might be an awesome person, and are great at posting, {big hint here, posting is not marketing, unless it’s done properly} maybe they can even post standing on their heads with both thumbs tied behind their backs and blindfolded.

But if they can’t answer the questions I’m about to give you in the Social Media Marketing Dilettante Test, then all of that ain’t worth shit.

I want you to really understand just how important that this is to your business, and this is the best way that I can explain it for you.

And the reason it’s very rare is because there’s generally a Dilettante in charge of it.

It may be tough for you to go to your manager and or consultant and say I’m sorry but what you’re currently doing just isn’t performing, something needs to change.

Ask them this question first…

If I gave you $100 to sell {insert your product} from Facebook how would you…

1. Write the post?
2. Who would you Boost it to?
3. What would you do to make people buy it?
4. Where would you send them to buy it?

Want to know just how effective the questions in that test can be when you know the correct answers to them?

Here’s two results that I’ve been able to help my clients achieve in the last few months, by knowing how to answer them properly.

1. A client used it to make $1040 in sales from a $25 Boosted Post.
